Scottish Music

Greetings

Next Wednesday, the 25th, is Burns Day. Scots around the world will celebrate the life, the poetry, and the music of Robert Burns, Scotland's national poet.

I've had the pleasure of playing a few Burns Suppers. It's quite an amazing experience. Go google "Burns Supper" or check out your local Scottish organization to see if there's one in your community.

In honor of Robert Burns, and because I realized I have never done one, this week's show highlights Scottish music, songs, and tunes. If this episode isn't enough, then check out shows  #77 Celtic Music Tribute to Robert Burns and #192: Burns Day for even more.

Or better yet, become a Patreon of the Podcast and help us hit the $500 Milestone which will bring you 2-hours of Scottish music.

For that matter, if we hit that goal (and hold it) through the end of March, then I will make that a 3-hour special!!!

Let's hear it for the Scots!

... as well as these awesome musicians in this week's show: The Rogues, Bonnie Rideout, Battlefield Band, Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer, Ed Miller, Andrew McKee, Wicked Tinkers, Don Grieve, Brobdingnagian Bards, Caledonia Swing, Lady Moon, The Freestylers of Piping, Jasper Coal, Hugh Morrison, Jiggernaut, Kilted Kings.

Go visit their websites. Join their mailing lists. Buy their CDs. And support indie Celtic music.

Last week, I informed you about the free Irish & Celtic Music Podcast app. I was quickly notified that the app needed updating. I forwarded that info to Libsyn. It should be updated soon. My apologies for that. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear there’s an update. You can get your free app on iTunes and Amazon.

Sadly, those seem to be the only platforms currently offering the app, in case you were wanting something else. My apologies.

In personal music news, my band Kilted Kings is releasing our next our debut album, Name On My Soul on February 2, 2017. I'm having a CD Release Party at 7:30pm Central Time on Concert Window. Please mark your calendar or sign up to our mailing list.

Or if you prefer, you can Pre-Order the album on iTunes now!

Thanks as always. And I hope you enjoy this week's Scottish music. Please help me spread the word.
